Sprouts are really easy to make, but they give you so much nutrition back, so definitely try them! You don’t have to own special equipment for that and my post is about how you can make sprouts without any extra investment for the tools. Sprouts are said to be rich in digestible energy, bioavailable vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins, and phytochemicals, as these are necessary for a germinating plant to grow. These nutrients are essential for human health.

Ingredients:

  • two spoons of seeds ( I made from green lentils)
  • a jar
  • a sieve
  • a bowl
  1. rinse the seeds and add them to a jar
  2. soak the seeds overnight in a pure room temperature water
  3. in the morning pour away the water and set the jar with a seeds in a dark place (for example in the kitchen cabinet). Reverse the jar upside down, so the water can come out and the air could move. Always hold the sieve on a jar.
  4. rinse the seeds with clean water twice a day, until they are ready (it will take about 4 days)

Tip! It’s important to stop the growth of sprouts at a right time, so the nutrition will remain in the sprouts. In a fridge sprouts will preserve about 5 days in airtight box.

Tip! Best temperature for the growth of the sprouts in the dark is 20-22ºC. If it’s too warm the seeds will go bad and if it’s too cold, the seed won’t start growing.

Just some example for sprouts: alfalfa, garlic, clover, mung bean, broccoli, cress, buckwheat groats, lucerne, green lentils etc. Just try and pick up your favourite taste!

Kuidas kasvatada koduste vahenditega idusid: lihtsad sammud, et anda oma toidule juurde vitamiine!

Vaja läheb:

  • paar supilusikatäit seemeneid (mina kasutasin rohelisi läätsesid)
  • purk
  • sõel
  • kauss
  1. loputa idud ja paned nad purki
  2. leota idusid üleöö purgis puhtas toasoojas vees
  4. loputa idandeid iga päev kaks korda, kuni nad on valminud (läheb umbes 4 päeva).

! Väga oluline on idandite areng õigel ajal peatada, et väärtuslikud toitained kaotsi ei läheks. Selleks pane nad hermeetilisse karpi ja aseta külmkappi.

! Parim temperatuur idandamiseks pimedas on 20–22 kraadi. Liiga soojas seemned lähevad halvaks ja jahedas ei arene.

Seemnete valik, mida ise kasvatada, on tohutu. Igal seemnel on oma isikupärane maitse, kuid erinevaid idusid on võimalik kas ise kombineerida või valmiskujul poest osta. Ökopoodidest saad head nõu, mis seemneid kasutada ja mida osta: kõige populaarsemad on mungoad, läätsed, toortatar, lutsern, kress, küüslauk, läätsed jne.

Head krõmpsutamist!
